Nba teams did their own reporting with no nba rep there to verify so they can report as they or players wish basically. Not only that, using full inches will lead to massive round ups. Zion easily could have came in at 6'5 1/2" or slightly lower. They arent going to round anyone down.

I feel bad for Zion because I have a feeling he’s going to be really good and yet a lot of people are still going to be disappointed in his play. He’s going to end up somewhere between Blake Griffin and Charles Barkley, both amazing amazing players, but not in the GOAT conversation.

If he doesn’t have an amazing rookie season it’s going to be rough. Meanwhile a guy like Luka really benefited from being underrated. The perception of Luka seems to be something like “wow he is surprisingly good”. Due to his insane athleticism, Zion could play at a similar level as Luka did last year and some people will still nitpick like “yeah but he’s no LeBron, his game won’t age well” or something along those lines.

I’m 5’7” I would love to find out that he is too, but I guess he’s one of the only nba players that recorded their actual height without shoes. He’s apparently actually 5’8” and this has already been known. I guess when you’re that short it doesn’t matter the inch to the gm, they know you’re short. People will be amazed simply by learning that a player is 1-2" shorter than they've been listed as in the past, but it really doesn't matter at all. The only 'height' that really determines how big you play is standing reach and, to an extent, max vertical leap.

Yeah. I would argue it doesn’t really matter for those guys at this point in their careers because they’ve both proven what they can do. But early on, Durant wanted to make sure he played the 3 and didn’t get shoehorned into playing 4 because of his height. Love was the opposite and wanted teams to trust he had the size to play the 4.
